Lauren Miller’s primary motivation in her career as a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant is to bring women together to gain the financial stability and flexibility everyone deserves—and she thinks big. “I want to change the world of women, and Mary Kay allows me to do so,” she says. “Every little girl dreams of changing the world, and now I am blessed to be able to do just that with my business.”

Her entrepreneurial and altruistic worldview spirit started young. “I have always wanted to be my own boss and have the ability to give back to my community and good causes that require monetary attention,” she continues. “Mary Kay allows women to own their own business and stay employed. I pay my taxes, and I’m much more aware of small and local businesses around me with which I network and to which I contribute.”

“My most unexpected surprise has been the simplicity and fulfillment I have enjoyed as my own boss,” Lauren adds. “Also, I am continually able to make connections through proactive business and networking; I really enjoy that aspect of my career.”

Lauren’s enthusiasm for the independent contractor lifestyle, even when she’s offering pointed words to Congress and President Obama, is palpable. “Independent contractors are important,” she concludes. “We contribute to our economy, empower individuals to get up and get to work—and more than most, we want to change the story and boost our economy and create more jobs.”
